UbuntuNet' brings together researchers from Africa and Europe

A high-speed network dedicated to research and education, 'UbuntuNet', will now strengthen contact between scientists and academics in South and East Africa, serving as a link between them and their peers on the European continent. It is the first network of its kind in Africa.

The launch of 'UbuntuNet' took place on November 28th in Lisbon, as part of the EuroAfrica-ICT Forum 2012, an event co-organized by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through the Information Society Department (DSI). This event brought together in Lisbon, for two days, dozens of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) specialists from African and European countries.
