Upcoming Calls for Individual and Institutional Scientific Employment Stimulus

The FCT has published notices for the submission of applications for Calls next Scientific Employment Calls for individual and institutional modalities. The two Calls to the opening of a further 700 positions for contracts with PhD researchers. These Scientific Employment Calls are two funding instruments for hiring researchers introduced by the FCT in 2017, following the publication of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, which aim to stimulate scientific and technological employment in all areas of knowledge.

Applications for the 4th edition of Call for Individual Scientific Employment Call (CEEC Individual) will run from January 29 to February 26, 2021, Call this Call 400 positions for contracts. CEEC Individual is an Call that directly supports the hiring of PhD researchers in all scientific areas who wish to carry out their scientific research or technological development activities in Portugal, at institutions that are part of the National Science and Technology System (SNCT).

Applications for the 2nd edition of Call Institutional Scientific Employment Call (CEEC Institucional) will run from March 11 to April 16, 2021, and the Call 300 positions for contracts. The Institutional CEEC is a Call aimed at institutions to support the development of R&D activities through the hiring of PhD researchers, particularly in careers.

Altogether, the four editions of CEEC Individual and the two editions of CEEC Institutional have opened up 2,200 positions for contracts with PhD researchers. In both Calls, FCT funds contracts for up to six years.
