SciPROJ Portal: FCT's new service for researching scientific funding in Portugal
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through its digital services unit FCCN, has launched theSciPROJ Portal, a resource integrated into thePTCRIS program, which brings together all information on scientific funding in one place, with quick and flexible access.
SciPROJis a registry that aggregates detailed information on national and international funding that supports science and technology activities in Portugal. Through this portal, researchers, institutions, and the general public can obtain a unified and complete overview of science and technology funding in Portugal, including data such as amounts, researchers, and institutions involved. In addition, theSciPROJ APIprovides programmatic access to SciPROJ data, enabling access to a wide range of detailed data on funding, projects, researchers, and organizations.
By aggregating data frommultiple sourceson science and technology, these platforms offer a comprehensive view of the investment made and the stakeholders involved, fostering transparency and collaboration in the national scientific ecosystem.
With automatic updates and continuous enrichment, data is standardized and integrated, ensuring consistency and reliability for detailed analysis and monitoring of scientific funding in Portugal.
To date, the Portal already includes over 108,000 records and information from five funders and 19 different types of funding instruments. This is a PTCRIS service co-financed by the Recovery and Resilience Plan, and is one of the actions included inmeasure RE-C05-i08 Ciência Mais Digital(More Digital Science), contracted between FCT and Estrutura de Missão Recuperar Portugal (Recover Portugal Task Force).
