Arquivo.pt 2025 Award invites you to travel back in time

The 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Award is coming up and invites innovative projects that use the information preserved in Arquivo.pt, FCT's digital service, developed through its FCCN unit. Applications open in January and run until May 6, 2025.

Those interested in competing for the 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Prize must submit a work on a topic of their choice, carried out in groups or individually, whose main source of information is Arquivo.pt. The initiative is open to anyone who wants to travel back in time.

1st place in the 2025 edition of this Prize receives a prize of €10,000; second place on the podium receives a prize of €3,000 and 3rd place is awarded €2,000.

As in previous editions, the Arquivo.pt 2025 Prize will also award several honorable mentions and, for the first time, the 50 Years of April 25 Commemorative Commission will distinguish a work that uses Arquivo.pt to address the theme "April 25 and Democracy", with a prize of €5,000.

The Aveiro Media Competence Center (AMCC) is responsible for distinguishing projects focused on Portuguese online media , with a prize of 500€.

The DNS.pt (.PT) Association will also award prizes to teachers who encourage their students to do work using Arquivo.pt. The winner in this category will receive €1,900 to buy a laptop.

Público newspaper, the initiative's media partner, will distinguish works focusing on content from this publication, preserved on Arquivo.pt, by rewarding them with a two-year subscription to Público online.

The initiative once again has the high patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic.
