Arquivo.pt 2025 Award invites you to travel through time

The 8th edition ofthe Arquivo.pt Awardis coming soon and invites submissions of innovative projects that use information preserved in Arquivo.pt, a digital service provided by FCT and developed through its FCCN unit. Applications open in January and run until May 6, 2025.

Those interested in competing in the 8th edition of the Arquivo.pt Award must submit a project on a topic of their choice, carried out in a group or individually, whose main source of information isArquivo.pt. The initiative is open to anyone who wants to travel back in time.

First place in the 2025 edition of this Award will receive a prize of €10,000; second place will receive €3,000 and third place will receive €2,000.

As in previous editions, the Arquivo.pt 2025 Award will also give out several honorable mentions and, for the first time, the 50 Years of April 25 Commemorative Committee will recognize a work that usesArquivo.ptto address the theme "April 25 and Democracy," with a prize of €5,000.

The Aveiro Media Competence Center Consortium (AMCC) is responsible for selecting projects focused onPortuguese online media, with a prize of €500.

The DNS.pt (.PT) Association will also reward teachers who encourage students to carry out projects usingArquivo.pt. The winner in this category will receive €1,900 to purchase a laptop.

The Público newspaper,media partnerof the initiative, will recognize works focused on content from this publication, preserved inArquivo.pt, awarding them with a two-year subscription to Público online.

The initiative once again enjoys the High Patronage of the President of the Portuguese Republic.
