European Statistics Awards stimulate innovation in the field of Web Intelligence

Eurostat launched the Call Intelligence – Classification of occupations for online job advertisements challenge (WI Classification Challenge) – as part of the European Statistics Prize Program, starting in June 2024.

The Call to stimulate innovation in the field of Web Intelligence for European statistics.  The Classification Challenge focuses on developing approaches that learn to assign a class label (from a known taxonomy) to job advertisements from a given set of job advertisement data.

Aimed at those who know how to program in Python or R, either individually or in teams (maximum of 5 people), these prizes totaling €25,000 will be awarded as follows: €10,000 for the Accuracy prize; €10,000 for the Reuse prize; and €5,000 for the Innovation prize.
