Prince Aga Khan (1936-2025)

The Board of Directors of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) expresses its deep regret at the death of Prince Karim Al-Husseini, Aga Khan IV, on February 4, 2025, in Lisbon.

Founder and president of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) and Imam of the Ismaili Shia Muslim Community, his life's work has been characterized by his support for various social, cultural and educational projects around the world.

In 2016, FCT established a protocol with AKDN to jointly fund research projects, promoting academic, scientific and technological cooperation with developing countries. Through this partnership, FCT and AKDN have already supported 37 projects with an impact on 13 African countries.

The FCT Board of Directors would like to convey its heartfelt condolences to his family, friends and the entire Ismaili Shia Muslim Community.
