UT Austin Portugal program opens registration for two new courses
The UT Austin Portugal Program has opened enrollment for two new courses, Entrepreneurial Foundations 2026 and Startup2ScaleUp Program 2026 , promoted by the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin).
The Entrepreneurial Foundations 2026 program at UT Austin Portugal Training Academy 2026 is a five-week online course with UT Austin, on a part-time basis, designed for Portuguese scientists, engineers, and researchers. With the goal of creating value from science and technology, understanding real-world needs, and imagining new possibilities for your work, it does not require prior business experience, just curiosity and an open mind.
The course is taught by Mellie Price, Executive Director of Texas Entrepreneurship at the University of Texas at Austin, and focuses on practical frameworks to help participants create value from research, understand real-world needs, and explore paths beyond the lab.
Starting on February 25, 2026, this course has limited places. Registration is open until February 16, 2026, but may close earlier if all places are filled.
As for the Startup2ScaleUp Program 2026, it is a selective commercialization program for deep tech founders ready to expand globally. Lasting 12 months, this program is execution-oriented and driven by UT Austin Portugal, which helps only four Portuguese deep tech companies per year enter the US market with real customers, partners, and traction.
This course is intended for advanced technology startups or scaleups registered in Portugal that have differentiated technology or protected intellectual property ready for commercialization and that consider the US a strategic priority market.
