CMU Portugal Visiting Faculty & Researchers and Visiting Students Programs 2024

The CMU Portugal Program, funded by FCT, has opened the application period for the 2024 edition of the Visiting Faculty & Researchers and Visiting Students Programs until April 8, 2024.

The CMU Portugal Visiting Faculty & Researchers Program is aimed at professors or researchers with a doctoral degree, affiliated to a Portuguese Higher Education Institution or Research Laboratory, and aims to provide an immersion period of between 2 weeks and 2 months at Carnegie Mellon University, where they will be able to develop work in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) research, education and innovation. There are 8 places available and the monthly stipend will be €2,500. In addition to the monthly internship stipend, beneficiaries will also have access to health insurance worth up to €600 while at CMU.

The Visiting Students Program offers an immersion period of 2 to 3 months at Carnegie Mellon University, for master's students or master's students who have obtained their degree in the last 5 years in Portugal and in areas related to ICT. While attending Carnegie Mellon University, candidates will be mentored by the university's professors and researchers and will have the opportunity to experience the university's culture. There are 10 places available and the monthly stipend will be €2,000 and they will also be entitled to a one-off travel allowance of €1,000.
