Megatrends 2050 Report published – The changing world – Impacts on Portugal

The Megatrends 2050 Report – The changing world – Impacts on Portugal was launched on June 4 and is the result of two years of work by REPLAN – Multisectoral Foresight Team, coordinated by PLANAPP – Center for Planning and Evaluation of Public Policies.

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through its Studies and Planning Division, participated from the outset in the production of this report, co-authoring the chapter on technological acceleration and also organizing a workshop in this context.

This report presents an analysis of the nine megatrends identified for Portugal's future, serving as a tool for constructing scenarios and a vision of what Portugal is intended to be in 2050.

The forward-looking exercise carried out in preparing this document, which details the brochure"Introduction to Megatrends 2050," published in 2024, adopted a multidisciplinary and systemic approach, integrating data, empirical evidence, and a diversity of perspectives gathered throughworkshopswebinars, andinterviews, involving more than 80 experts and entities from various fields and with the collaborative and networked participation of various public administration services.
