Megatrends 2050 Report published - The changing world - Impacts on Portugal

The Megatrends 2050 Report - The Changing World - Impacts on Portugal was launched on June 4 and is the result of work carried out by REPLAN - the Multisectoral Foresight Team over two years, coordinated by PLANAPP - the Center for Planning and Evaluation of Public Policies.
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through its Studies and Planning Division, participated from the outset in the process of producing this report, co-authoring the chapter on technological acceleration and also organizing a workshop in this context.
This report presents an analysis of the nine megatrends identified for Portugal's future, and is a tool for building scenarios and a vision of what Portugal should be in 2050.
The foresight exercise carried out in the preparation of this document, which details the brochure "Introduction to Megatrends 2050", published in 2024, adopted a multidisciplinary and systemic approach, integrating data, empirical evidence and a diversity of perspectives gathered through workshops, webinars and interviews, involving more than 80 experts and entities from different areas and with the collaborative and networked participation of various public administration services.
