European HERA Network and CHANSE Program open Call
The Humanities in the European Research Area (HERA) network and the Collaboration of Humanities and Social Sciences in Europe (CHANSE) program are promoting, until September 21, 2023 (2:00 p.m. CET), a Call joint transnational proposals on the theme "Crises – Perspectives from the Humanities."
Research projects may be developed around themes such as: different understandings of crises; crises and human response; and the representation of crises. Projects will last between 24 and 36 months, with funding per project up to a maximum of €1,500,000.
Companies of any nature and legal form, as well as non-business entities in the Research and Innovation (R&I) system, may apply for Call, either individually or in joint promotion, namely:
- Higher education institutions, their institutes, and R&D units;
- State or international laboratories based in Portugal;
- Private non-profit institutions whose main purpose is R&D activities;
- Other public and private, non-profit institutions that develop or participate in scientific research activities.
FCT is one of the national funding agencies involved in HERA's Joint Research Programme Crisis, which, through these initiatives, seeks to create opportunities for transnational, collaborative, and humanities-oriented research that will result in new academic perspectives relevant to the major social, cultural, and political challenges facing Europe and the world.
