ReICO is conducting a survey on research and development careers
ReICO – the Observatory for Research and Innovation Careers – has launched the international survey “OECD-EU Research and Development Careers Survey 2026.” Available through September 25, 2026, the initiative aims to gather information from the research and development (R&D) community, helping to improve understanding of the evolution of R&D careers and support the development of more informed public and institutional policies.
The questionnaire is confidential and is intended for researchers, innovators/entrepreneurs, and science and technology managers, as well as anyone who contributes to the research and innovation process, including those in technical, scientific, administrative, institutional, and management support roles.
The areas under analysis include professional occupations, recruitment, working conditions, social protection, interoperability between careers, mobility, and other aspects relevant to better understanding the reality of careers in research and innovation.
This initiative is part of ReICO’s mission, which, for the first time, brings together internationally comparable data, statistics, and evidence on the careers that drive science, technology, and innovation, covering more than 50 countries.
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) is partnering with the European Commission and the OECD to distribute this questionnaire.
