Science Counter

Virtual and Physical Counter
The Science Desk offers a virtual assistantin the form of a chatbot installed on the website, which allows users to ask questions and get answers based on the content of the FCT’s institutional website.
It also has a physical counter at the Science XXI Campus, on Av. do Brasil, for in-person customer service. Here, information is provided about FCT services and funding mechanisms.
This virtual and physical information service is aimed at a diverse audience, including potential beneficiaries of FCT funding, public administration, companies, and the general public.
Researcher Matching
The Researcher Matching service is a feature of the Science Desk that includes a chatbot with a search function on the CIÊNCIAVITAE platform, enabling companies, government agencies, and other civil society organizations to identify researchers and R&D entities that meet their criteria and needs.
Funding Management Systems – myFCT
These two systems integrate new functions into the myFCT platform, which, within the scope of the Science Desk, now offers an online service for managing funding processes, intended for beneficiaries of funding awarded by the FCT.
With these new systems, the entire life cycle of funding granted by FCT is managed through myFCT. This includes, in particular, the publication of Calls, the submission of applications, the evaluation of applications, the approval of applications for funding, and the management of funding.
The Studentships Funding Management System is specifically aimed at beneficiaries of Studentships , and the Scientific Employment Funding Management System is aimed at institutions that benefit from this funding instrument.
These systems allow beneficiaries of these financing instruments to be served entirely through online services, streamlining processes and reducing the need for correspondence, telephone calls, and emails.
The Science Desk is supported by Measure 5 of the "Science + Digital" program of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), to accelerate the process of digital transformation and digitization of Science and support services for the National Science and Technology System (SNCT), promoting greater competitiveness in the economy, society, public administration, and business fabric.
