4th edition of Call Advanced Computing Projects

4th Edition Call Advanced Computing Projects

The FCT, through its FCCN unit, will open applications for the 4th edition of Call Advanced Computing Call on October 26. This Call provide Advanced Computing resources for Research and Innovation and is a collaboration with the operational centers of the National Advanced Computing Network (RNCA).

Call than 300 million CPU core-hours or vCPU-hours are Call , and applications will be accepted in all scientific areas using High Performance Computing (HPC) and/or scientific Cloud orVirtual Research Environments (VRE) in four different types:

  • Experimental Access (A0)– 6-month projects for users with little or no prior experience. Several application batches between October 26, 2023, and May 30, 2024.
  • Access Development (A1) – projects up to 12 months for testing and optimization of computational work. Several batches of applications between October 26, 2023, and May 30, 2024.
  • Regular Access (A2)– for research and innovation projects up to 3 million CPU core-hours over 12 months. Applications between October 26, 2023, and December 19, 2023.
  • Greater Access Dimension (A3)– for large research and innovation projects up to 20 million CPU core-hours over 12 months on Deucalion and MareNostrum 5. Applications between December 19, 2023, and February 8, 2024.

Calls Advanced Computing Calls seek to encourage the use of HPC and Scientific Cloud or VRE computational resources to obtain new knowledge that will enable scientific and technological advancement in all areas of knowledge. These resources can be useful for simulations in areas as diverse as climate or molecular modeling, artificial intelligence, and the study of complex problems in the creation of new materials or the improvement of industrial production lines.

An online information session will be held on October 26 at 12:00 p.m. Register here.

Applications must be submitted viathe myFCT platformbetween October 26 and May 30.
