PRIMA 2025 Calls open

The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Region (PRIMA) has launched the 2025 annualCalls for transnational collaborative research and innovation projects - sections 1 and 2. Section 1 benefits from EU funds and the deadline for submitting proposals is July 15, 2025, at 16:00 (Lisbon time). In the case of section 2, using national funds, the deadline for submitting proposals is July 8, 2025, at 16h00 (Lisbon time). Proposals will be accepted in the fields of water management, agricultural systems and the agri-food chain, integrating the water-energy-food-ecosystems nexus approach.

Also noteworthy is the Call PRIMA NEXUS Award, dedicated to the topic 'PRIMA Woman Greening Food Systems Award in the Mediterranean Region' for recognizing and celebrating the extraordinary contributions of Mediterranean women in promoting sustainable and resilient food systems. In the previous edition, Marta Cortegano, a Portuguese researcher, was awarded for her work in the Mértola region.

On April 14, between 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. (CET), an online information session will be held, covering the essential elements of these Calls. The Agenda is now available and you must register to attend the session.

Since 2018, the PRIMA Foundation has been launching annual Calls , creating a framework for collaboration that promotes stability and prosperity in the Mediterranean. The Foundation for Science and Technology represents Portugal in PRIMA and, in section 2 of these Calls, will participate as a funding agency with an allocation of 1.2 million euros, aimed at supporting national institutions.
