Applications open for 1,500 FCT 2024 Studentships
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) is now accepting applications for Call Studentships for Doctorates in all Scientific Fields 2024 in the General Lineand inNon-Academic Environments. Applications will be open until April 18, 2024.
PhD Studentships are intended for candidates who are enrolled, or who meet the necessary conditions to enroll, in a course of study leading to a doctoral degree and who wish to carry out research activities leading to the award of that degree.
This will be the third edition of Call Studentships Call a track for Non-academic Environment, which will continue to support PhDs in close collaboration with civil society entities, such as companies, museums, hospitals, associations, and non-governmental organizations.
The 2024 edition of this Call the number of Studentships be awarded in the specific application line for work plans developed in non-academic entities to 450, 50 more than in the previous year. The number of Studentships in the General Line remains at 1,050.
The FCT keeps available, for non-academic entities, anexpression of interest in hosting doctoral students, whose list is available for consultation and continuously updated. Candidates can consult this list of institutions and interact directly with the contact point of each institution, with a view to preparing a work plan aimed at a possible application.
The Non-Academic Environment Studentships will also contribute to encouraging the strengthening of internal skills in public administration and supporting the definition and implementation of its research strategies and priorities, involving different areas of government, as established in the "Mais Ciência" (More Science) programs signed by the FCT with the ministries of Health, Defense, Justice, Culture, and Digitalization and Administrative Modernization.
