CMU Portugal has opened Call 10 Dual Studentships in cutting-edge areas of ICT

The deadline for submitting applications for Call up to 10 dual Studentships under the Carnegie Mellon Portugal (CMU Portugal) Program, an initiative funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), is now open.

These Studentships for the 2026/2027 academic year and cover areas of scientific excellence in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). To support applicants, an information session will be held on October 14, at 4:00 p.m. (Mainland Portugal time) and 11:00 a.m. (Pittsburgh time, USA, where Carnegie Mellon University is located). During this session, all questions about the application process and available programs will be addressed. Participation in the information session is free of charge, registration is required, and all information is available on this page.

Scientific areas and application deadlines for the Call:

Applications: until December 1 (11:59 p.m. EST)

Applications: until December 10 (3:00 p.m. EST)

Applications: until December 15 (11:59 p.m. EST)

Selected candidates will have the opportunity to conduct advanced research in collaboration between Portugal and the United States, benefiting from joint training at two leading institutions. The academic program includes up to two years at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) and up to three years at a Portuguese university affiliated with the CMU Portugal Program.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive two doctoral degrees: one awarded by CMU and one by the corresponding Portuguese university.
