Call Applications for Exploratory Research Projects in all Scientific Fields 2024

Applications for theCall Exploratory Research Projects in all Scientific Fields 2024 are open until February 25, 2025.

This Call to fund exploratory projects (PEX) in all scientific fields, with a special focus on innovative proposals aimed at early-career researchers, or on original ideas and concepts that are highly novel and demonstrate disruptive potential compared to previous work carried out by more experienced researchers.

The expected duration of the projects to be developed is 18 months, with the maximum funding to be allocated increased from €50,000 to €60,000 per project, without reducing the total number of projects to be funded. The overall budget allocation for this measure is €24 million, representing an increase of €4 million compared to Calls .

Applications must be submitted using the appropriate form, available on themyFCT platform, by 5:00 p.m. on February 25, 2025 (Mainland Portugal time).

After this date, the deadline for approval by the head of the Proposing Institution, or by someone delegated by them, will follow, through the submission of the Proposing Institution's Declaration of Commitment, which will be available on themyFCT platform after the application submission deadline and until 5 p.m.on March 11, 2025 (Mainland Portugal time).
