FCT released today, July 25, the provisional results of the Call for scientific research and technological development (IC&DT) projects under the Cooperation between Portugal and the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN). The overall investment amount for this Call is €1,993,449.40, funded by investment RE-C06-i06 - "Science Plus Capacity Building" of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR).

Of the 35 applications to the Call and after analysis and evaluation, a total of 19 IC&DT projects were recommended for funding. The minimum amount per project proposed for funding was 26,000 euros and the maximum 167,000 euros. The projects will have a maximum duration of 24 months.

This Call aims to support IC&DT projects associated with official scientific collaborations or those recognized by CERN, as well as technology-based projects in the field of applied sciences, in collaboration with activities supported by CERN. Applications were eligible in one of the following thematic or sectoral areas: Computing for particle physics; Experimental and theoretical particle and astroparticle physics; Instrumentation for particle physics; and Technologies associated with experimental particle physics.

From now until August 8, 2024, applicants can present their views at a prior hearing of interested parties. The final results of the Call are expected to be published in September.
