Call Research 2026 from the “la Caixa” Foundation – information session on October 2

On October 2 at 11:00 a.m. (CET), the “la Caixa” Foundation will hold an online information session on Call Research 2026. Registration for this information session is now open.

This Call, for which applications will be accepted from January 7 to 22, 2026, aims to promote innovative projects that respond to current social challenges, promoting scientific knowledge and its practical application for the well-being of communities. Support will be given to selected applications led by individual researchers of any nationality who carry out their research activities in a non-profit organization—public or private universities or research centers based in Portugal or Spain.

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) has been associated with the annual editions Calls Social Research Calls since 2020, under the Agreement signed with the ”la Caixa” Foundation, which provides for the mobilization of support for the financing of projects led by researchers from research institutions based in Portugal. The collaboration with the FCT has already enabled the financing of a total of 32 projects led by Portuguese institutions, with a joint investment of more than €3.3 million, of which €900,000 comes from the FCT.
