MIT Portugal 2024 Annual Conference promotes knowledge sharing and future collaborations

The MIT Portugal Program will hold its annual conference on November 8, 2024, at Quinta das Lágrimas, in Coimbra. Under the theme "Ideas to Impact,"this conference will focus on revisiting the past, sharing the successes of the present, and outlining a vision for the future.

The event brings together Portuguese researchers and researchers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), students, industry members, and other members of the MIT Portugal community, with the aim of informing the community and society at large about the advances already made and the research results obtained through this partnership.

There will also be a poster exhibition that will enable students and researchers to present their research projects. The research work carried out by MIT Portugal students will be recognized with the award for best poster in each scientific area of the program: Climate Science and Climate Change; Earth Observation: Oceans-Space; Digital Transformation in Manufacturing; Sustainable Cities; Data Science.

The MIT Portugal Program, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), was created in 2006 and involves the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the US, the Portuguese Government, as well as national academies and research centers, associations, and industry. Its goal is to promote innovative ideas and R&D projects addressing complex challenges facing society and the planet, thereby boosting Portugal's economic and social development and competitiveness.

The MIT Portugal Annual Conference aims to foster interaction and networking among the various stakeholders in this program, enabling the exchange of knowledge and paving the way for future collaborations between the two sides of the Atlantic. The event program is now available and participation is free, but subject toprior registration byOctober 19.
