FCT wins Diversity Seal for its practices promoting equality, work-life balance, and organizational well-being

2025 Diversity Seal awarded to FCT

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) was awarded the Diversity Seal in the category "Working Conditions and Accessibility" for the development of the +vida.FCT Program.

This distinction recognizes FCT's commitment to promoting equality, work-life balance, and organizational well-being.

Awarded by the Portuguese Association for Diversity and Inclusion (APPDI), promoter of the Portuguese Charter for Diversity in partnership with the Agency for Integration, Migration, and Asylum (AIMA), the Diversity Seal recognizes institutional practices that promote more inclusive and equitable work environments.

Created in 2022, the +vida.FCT Program was structured to establish more inclusive, flexible, and healthy working conditions, within the scope of the implementation of NP 4552 certification (obtained in June this year). One of the structural measures of this program is the adoption of teleworking as a differentiating practice in Public Administration. In addition to this aspect of teleworking, +vida.FCT brings together around 30 initiatives related to good working practices, health and well-being protocols agreed with different entities, professional support and development (continuous training), and the adoption of inclusive communication, with the use of neutral language, alongside the operation of internal channels for continuous consultation.

The Diversity Seal is a prestigious distinction that aims to reward organizations that implement or promote practices that fall within policies and strategies for promoting diversity and equal opportunities at work, regardless of cultural, ethnic, and social origin, sexual orientation, gender, age, personal style, religion, physical characteristics, or other factors.

With this distinction, the +vida.FCT Program asserts itself as a strategic instrument of institutional excellence, reinforcing the FCT's work-life balance policy as a measure that benefits workers, families, the scientific community, and the Public Administration itself.
