The Foundation for Science and Technology has established the following programs with French agencies, with a view to strengthening scientific and technological cooperation between Portugal and France:
- The PESSOA Program, whose main objective is to implement scientific and technological exchange of excellence between research laboratories in both countries, promoting the emergence of new teams and new areas of cooperation.
- The Cotutelas Program, which aims to encourage and support academic and scientific exchanges between Portugal and France.
An agreement was also signed between FCT and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS) to fund exchanges between young researchers and doctoral students.
