The Foundation for Science and Technology has established the following programs with French agencies to strengthen scientific and technological cooperation between Portugal and France:
- The PESSOA Program has as its main objective the implementation of scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between research laboratories in the two countries, encouraging the emergence of new teams and new cooperation themes.
- The Cotutelas Program is designed to encourage and support academic and scientific exchanges between Portugal and France.
An agreement was also signed between the FCT and the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique - CNRS to fund exchanges of young researchers and doctoral students.
