Evaluation and Funding of Academic Clinical Centers 2022

After the submission of applications for the evaluation of Clinical Academic Centers (CAC), which ended last April 11, the public presentation of the CACs will take place from May 23rd to June 3rd. The presentation includes a discussion with the evaluation panel, in accordance with Article 15 of Regulation No. 735/2021, which establishes the terms of the external evaluation of clinical academic centers. Each public presentation session lasts 90 minutes.

The external evaluation of the CACs is coordinated by the FCT, which delegated this evaluation to the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation (AICIB) in conjunction with the Central Administration of the Health System, I.P. (ACSS), in close coordination with the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES), Directorate-General of Health (DGS) and after hearing the National Council of Clinical Academic Centers (CNCAC).

Carried out by international experts, this external evaluation seeks to ensure the performance evaluation, monitoring, and multi-year funding of the CCS as integrated structures for assistance, teaching, and clinical and translational research, whose main objective is the advancement and application of knowledge and scientific evidence for the improvement of health care provided to the population.
