Call for R&D projects AI 4 COVID-19 received 39 applications

The Call for R&D projects "AI 4 COVID-19: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration", which closed for applications on May 28, received 39 applications.

The application process to Call will be fully completed with the submission of the Declaration of Commitment, by the proponent institution and the responsible researcher, which must be delivered until 5pm, Lisbon time, on June 15th, 2020.

This is the 3rd edition of a program of Calls annually directed to research in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence applied to Public Administration, which this year is exclusively oriented to data processing in the scope of the current pandemic of the new coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 and the disease COVID-19. It is intended that the projects may contribute to responses to this and future pandemics, through the application of data science and artificial intelligence. The projects will be developed in partnership between the public administration and R&D institutions, with emphasis on support for citizens and health care services and entities.

The projects selected for funding will have a duration of 24 to 36 months, with funding of up to 240 thousand Euros per project. The financial allocation foreseen for this Call is 3 million euros.
