Call AI 4 COVID-19 R&D projects received 39 applications

The Call R&D projects "AI 4 COVID-19: Data Science and Artificial Intelligence in Public Administration," which closed for applications on May 28, received 39 applications.

The application process for Call fully completed with the submission of the Declaration of Commitment by the proposing institution and the principal investigator, which must be delivered by 5:00 p.m., Lisbon time, on June 15, 2020.

This is the third edition of an Calls program focused on research in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence applied to Public Administration, which this year is exclusively oriented towards data processing in the context of the current SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic and COVID-19 disease. The aim is for the projects to contribute to responses to this and future pandemics through the application of data science and artificial intelligence. The projects will be developed in partnership between public administration and R&D institutions, with an emphasis on supporting citizens and healthcare services and providers.

The projects selected for funding will have a duration of 24 to 36 months, with funding of up to €240,000 per project. The financial allocation for this Call €3 million.
