FCT Governing Board requests replacement

Taking into account the content of the terms of reference for the Reflection Group on the Future of the Foundation for Science and Technology and the suspension of the launch of all FCT initiatives previously planned and already announced to the scientific community, the FCT Board of Directors hereby announces that, in accordance with the law, it submitted a letter of resignation to the Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education on December 29.

This letter requests that the replacement of the Board of Directors be carried out as soon as possible, preferably before the legal maximum of three months from the end of the term of office. This term ended on December 31, 2015.

In the period following the end of its term of office, the FCT Governing Board will continue to perform its duties, within the established limits, in order to ensure the continuation of ongoing projects and the activities of the FCT.
