ERC starting grants for Portugal

Six scientists from Portuguese universities have received starting grants from the European Research Council. Manuel Alves (Department of Engineering, University of Porto), Lino Ferreira (Center for Neuroscience and Cell Biology, University of Coimbra), Maria Goreti Ferreira Sales (Higher Institute of Engineering of Porto), Maria Mota (Institute of Molecular Medicine, University of Lisbon), Mariana Pinho (Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology, New University of Lisbon) and Rodrigo Rodrigues (Center for Informatics and Information Technology, FCT - New University of Lisbon), receive funding ranging between 1.5 and 2 million euros per project.
