João Sentieiro is the new Research Grant Holder Ombudsman
João Sentieiro has been designated as the Research Grant Holder Ombudsman(Despacho n.º 6407/2019).
The Research Grant Holder Ombudsman, whose office is held for three-year periods, is tasked with defending and promoting the rights and legitimate interests of scientific research grant holders, and within the scope of its activity it may issue recommendations to host institutions and funding institutions. D. in Electrotechnical Engineering from the University of London (Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine), João Sentieiro was a Full Professor at IST - Instituto Superior Técnico, from 1995 to 2014. In 1998, he was awarded the degree of Grand Officer of the Order of Sant'Iago da Espada by President Jorge Sampaio. At the 2016 Science Meeting he was honored along with a group of 11 other scientists with the medal of merit from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education. From January 2006 to January 2012 he was president of the FCT, having been the driving force behind the project for the treatment of the FCT document collection and the creation of the Science and Technology Archive, which was inaugurated at the end of his mandate in December 2011.
