FCCN conferences return to in-person format

The Scientific Computing Conference returns to its in-person format for its next edition, which will take place from October 19 to 21. This is the annual meeting of the community served by FCCN, the National Scientific Computing unit of FCT, which will be held at the School of Technology and Management (Polo 2) of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria.

The meeting aims to maintain contact between the various communities of managers and users of advanced computing, communication, and other digital services platforms provided by the FCCN Unit of the FCT. It is intended for those responsible for IT, library, documentation, and/or archive services at higher education institutions, decision-makers and institutional leaders in these areas, and those responsible for science and research units.

As in previous years, over the course of three days, topics related to the areas of activity of the FCCN Unit of the FCT will be presented and discussed: Connectivity, Computing, Collaboration, Knowledge, and Security. There will also be opportunities for socializing among the community. The social program includes, on the first day of the event, a walking tour dedicated to the work "O Crime do Padre Amaro" (The Crime of Father Amaro) by Eça de Queirós, and the conference dinner on October 20.
