Associate Laboratories

The Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education has approved the Regulations for Awarding Status and Funding to Associate Laboratories. The regulation will come into force after its publication in the Diário da República.

The FCT is the entity responsible for conducting the process of evaluating proposals for the creation and renewal of Associate Laboratory status and for monitoring them, within the scope of the legal framework for research and development (R&D) institutions established by Decree-Law no. 63/2019, of May 16.

The Associate Laboratories, approved for a period of up to 10 years following the evaluation of the applications, will sign program contracts with the FCT relating to the commitments made, the funding allocated and any additional requirements that may be established.
