Associate Laboratories

The Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education has approved the Regulation on the Granting of Status and Funding to Associate Laboratories. The regulation will come into force after its publication in the Official Gazette.

The FCT is the entity responsible for conducting the process of evaluating proposals for the creation and renewal of Associate Laboratory status Associate Laboratory for monitoring it, within the scope of the legal regime for research and development (R&D) institutions established by Decree-Law No. 63/2019 of May 16.

Associate Laboratories, approved for a period of up to 10 years following the evaluation of applications, will enter into program contracts with FCT regarding the commitments made, the funding allocated, and any additional requirements that may be established.
