MIT Portugal launches mobility initiatives with the Visiting Scholars Program at MIT
The Call for Expressions of Interest for the Visiting Scholars Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), under the MIT Portugal Program (MPP), is now open and will run until March 31, 2026.
Launched under the MPP, with the support of the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), this initiative, which is part of the fourth phase of the Program, aims to support research periods of three to seven months at MIT, providing an immersive experience in the scientific and technological ecosystem of the American university.
Teachers, researchers, and master's or doctoral students affiliated with non-business entities in the national R&D system who can guarantee the formal support of a MIT teacher available to host them during the mobility period are eligible for this mobility program. Applicants must also be Portuguese citizens or foreign citizens with permanent residence in Portugal.
During their stay, selected candidates will participate in advanced research projects and develop knowledge and technology transfer activities, contributing to the strengthening of scientific links between Portugal and MIT and possible future collaborations.
Applications must be submitted online using the form available on the MPP website. For further information, please contact info@mitportugal.org.
