ERC-PT Program: Call ERC Consolidator Grant 2024

The ERC-Portugal Pre-Assessment program, launched in June this year, continues to support ERC applicants who choose entities from the National Science and Technology System as host institutions. It should be noted that the deadline for submitting proposals to the ERC-PT program, regarding the "ERC Consolidator Grant 2024" Call, is October 12, 2023, approximately two months before the deadline for submitting applications established by the ERC for this type of grant, set for December 12, 2023.

This procedure allows applicants who submit their proposals to the ERC-PT program to receive pre-assessments and respective reports with recommendations for improvement approximately one month before the deadline for submitting their application to ERC-COG-2024. ERC-PT : ERC StG 2024 Call

Regarding the first cycle of the ERC-PT program corresponding to Call Starting Grant 2024 Call , the reports prepared by the College of Evaluators, both in STEP 1 and STEP 2, will be submitted to researchers by September 25.

Additional information is also provided, which will be useful for all researchers preparing applications for the ERC Consolidator Grant 2024:

• As recently announced, the ERC will hold a public session on September 20 to present the Calls 2024 work program, where applicants will be able to gather information on new developments in the application process and evaluation criteria, notably the new structure for CVs. The session will be broadcast on YouTube.
• On September 22, at 10:00 a.m., FCT will hold a Q&A session on the 2024 Calls . Anyone interested should register here;
• Since September 12, applicants for Call can begin the process of preparing proposals and access the relevant documentation on the Funding and Tenders Portal. The application guide for this Call also be found here.

FCT is the entity responsible for promoting national participation in the ERC and for creating the ERC-PT program. Since the start of Horizon Europe in 2021, the European framework program for research and innovation funding, research carried out at SNCT institutions has managed to attract around €78 million in Calls European Research Council.
