UT Austin Portugal Launches New Edition of the TechLaunch 2026 Training Program
Applications are now open through June 19, 2026, for the latest edition of TechLaunch, an intensive training program in science- and technology-based entrepreneurship organized as part of the UT Austin Portugal Program. The initiative is funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in collaboration with ANI—the Agency for Research and Innovation.
Designed for researchers, doctoral students, faculty members, and early-stage teams based in Portugal, the program offers a structured pathway for developing skills in customer discovery and market validation, with ties to the innovation ecosystem at The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin).
Inspired by the NSF I-Corps model, the program is an advanced, hands-on bootcamp designed to support researchers and innovative teams in exploring the market potential of science- and engineering-based ideas, with a focus on validating value propositions, engaging directly with potential customers and stakeholders, and adopting approaches geared toward practical application and real-world impact.
The 2026 edition is funded bythe PRR/NextGenerationEU under component C16 – Digital Transition – C16-i03.02, which will support validation and prototyping activities.
The promotion of technological entrepreneurship is one of the pillars of the UT Austin Portugal Program, which is developed under GoPORTUGAL – Global Science and Technology Partnerships Portugal. This initiative, promoted by FCT, aims to strengthen Portugal's international position in science and technology by creating collaborative networks with leading institutions such as the University of Texas at Austin.
