Provisional results of the Call for IC&DT Projects: Madeira - Tourism and the Sea
On October 8, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) announced the provisional results of the Call Scientific Research and Technological Development Projects (IC&DT): Madeira - Tourism and the Sea. Eight projects will be funded, with a maximum duration of 36 months, four projects in each thematic area (Tourism and the Sea). Each project will receive maximum funding of 250,000 euros, corresponding to an overall investment of 1,997,147.23 euros, fully supported by the FCT budget.
This Call was promoted within the framework of the program contract signed between the FCT, the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES), the Regional Government of Madeira (GRM), the University of Madeira (UMa), the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology and Innovation (ARDITI) and the Association for the Development of the International Research Centre for the Atlantic (Air Centre), with the aim of strengthening UMa's differentiating position in the national higher education panorama, promoting the development of scientific and technological skills in the strategic areas of Tourism and the Sea.
A total of 19 applications were submitted, eight in the thematic area of the Sea and 11 in the thematic area of Tourism, with UMa as the proposing entity.
The applications were assessed by a panel of independent experts appointed by the FCT. The evaluation process took into account criteria such as the scientific quality and degree of innovation of the proposals, the scientific merit of the Principal Investigator and the team, as well as the feasibility of the work plan and the adequacy of the proposed achievement indicators.
