This Call promoted under the program contract signed between FCT, the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES), the Regional Government of Madeira (GRM), the University of Madeira (UMa), the Regional Agency for the Development of Research, Technology, and Innovation (ARDITI), and the Association for the Development of the International Research Center for the Atlantic (Air Centre), with the aim of strengthening UMa's distinctive position in the national higher education landscape by promoting the development of scientific and technological skills in the strategic areas of Tourism and the Sea.

In total, 19 applications were submitted, eight in the thematic area of the Sea and 11 in the thematic area of Tourism, with UMa as the proposing entity.

The evaluation of applications was conducted by a panel of independent experts appointed by FCT. The evaluation process took into account criteria such as the scientific quality and degree of innovation of the proposals, the scientific merit of the Principal Investigator and the team, as well as the feasibility of the work plan and the adequacy of the proposed performance indicators.
