New R&TD Co-promotion Call – International partnerships.

In February 2019, PORTUGAL2020, ANI and FCT will launch a call to fund projects as a collaboration between companies and non-corporate entities of the R&I system.

This call marks the third phase of International Partnerships Program with Carnegie Mellon University, MIT and the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), which began in 2018 and will run until 2030. The planned budget is 18 M€, and the applications will be submitted through the Balcão Portugal 2020 platform.

The intention is to turn Portuguese companies into a dynamic force in collaborative networks and projects, with support from Portuguese R&D institutions, drawing on the experience and knowledge of North American universities. The aim is to build a model in which Portuguese companies lead the process to modernise the economic fabric, by strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Portugal.

Applications will be accepted from collaborative projects led by Portuguese companies, implemented in partnership with Portuguese academic institutions that contribute to consolidate the intergovernmental “Atlantic Interactions” initiative. Projects should help consolidate and develop partnerships with researchers from Carnegie Mellon University, MIT and UT Austin, on the following topics:

Applications should be submitted within 3 months from the opening of the call.

GoPortugal – Global Science and Technology Partnerships Portugal (2018-2030)

Aims to stimulate scientific and entrepreneurial development; to promote Portugal’s positioning in the World through the scientific and economic strengthening of an innovative agenda on “Atlantic Interactions”; attract funding and mobilize various actors, national and international, using an innovative approach in several areas of knowledge. This new stage will provide for the creation of qualified employment, attracting human resources of international merit to Portugal.
