FCT published the Notice of the annual for PhD Studentships

FCT has published today the Notice of the Annual Call for the award of Studentships for Doctoral Research in all Scientific Domains 2023(General Application Line and Application Line in a Non-Academic Environment). The Call will be open from March 1 until 17h00 (Lisbon time) on March 31, 2023. Applications are submitted electronically on the myFCT portal.

Applicants may apply if they are, or meet the conditions to be, enrolled in a study cycle leading to a doctoral degree, in any area of knowledge, and intend to develop research activities to obtain this academic degree.

In addition to applications in all scientific areas and with research work to be developed in scientific and academic institutions to be submitted in the general application line, a specific application line is open for Studentships research whose work plans partially take place in one or more non-academic entities. As part of the pursuit of a public policy of advanced training based on research with social relevance, FCT will thus strengthen, in 2023, the connection between work plans developed in an academic environment and the business and social fabric, in a broad sense, which includes companies, public, social, health, cultural entities or other interface institutions.

The number of Studentships to be allocated is 1450 (one thousand four hundred and fifty), of which a maximum of 400 (four hundred) will be allocated to the specific application line for work plans in non-academic entities.

In addition to these Studentships awarded under the national Call , FCT annually makes available a wide range of Studentships for doctoral studies within the framework of protocols with various national and international entities. For more information, please consult the Calendar of Calls under protocols.
