Sustainable Blue Economy Partnership (SBEP)

JPI Oceans logo

SBEP is a co-funded European partnership developed under Horizon Europe (HE) that brings together 60 partner institutions from 25 countries, enabling an unprecedented effort in joint investment in marine Research and Innovation and alignment of national programs on a pan-European scale, considering the sea basins (Mediterranean, Black Sea, Baltic and North Sea) and the Atlantic Ocean.

SBEP aims to drive a fair, inclusive and necessary transformation towards a climate neutral, sustainable and productive blue economy by 2030, while creating and supporting the conditions for a healthy ocean by 2050.

One of the main ambitions of this partnership will be the launch of six Joint Transnational Calls (JTCs), co-financed by the EU over a period of seven years, which will address the priority areas within the SBEP's Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda(SRIA) and allow the community to be mobilized in the transformation of the blue economy.
