Water4All - Water Security for the Planet

With the aim of contributing to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and boosting the European Union's competitiveness and growth, Water4All aims to provide large-scale, long-term water security and address water issues in a holistic framework.

This co-funded partnership brings together 90 organizations from 33 countries, covering the research, development and innovation chain in the water sector and including representatives from academia, research and innovation funding bodies, water management authorities and water sector associations. Scientific research is the focus of the partnership, as it is a powerful tool for deepening knowledge about the preservation, restoration and management of this essential resource. International cooperation is also necessary, since water does not recognize borders and flows from one country to another.

Water4All launched its Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) on September 30, 2022, which defines the program's strategic orientations. The SRIA defines water-related topics for which research and innovation activities are recommended, grouped into different key themes related to the value of water and the circular economy, ecosystems and biodiversity, sustainable water management, water and health, infrastructure, governance and international cooperation.

FCT, LNEC - Laboratório Nacional de Engenharia Civil, LIS-Water - Centro Internacional de Lisboa para a Água and the University of Évora are the Portuguese organizations that make up Water4All.
