CYTED 2024 Program announces funding for Thematic Networks

Technology Research Team

Applications for the CYTED 2024 Program will be open between April 1 and 30. The call for proposals announces funding for thematic networks involving research teams from at least six member countries of the program. Projects must focus on one of the thematic areas established by CYTED – Ibero-American Program of Science and Technology for Development.

Funding from the CYTED Program is intended for the coordination activities of thematic networks, and has a maximum limit of €20,000 per year, granted for the mobility of constituent groups, the organization of workshops and courses, and publications.

The selected projects will receive funding for a maximum period of four years and will have access to a wide range of resources and services offered by CYTED to support the implementation of the projects and the dissemination of the results obtained.

The open thematic areas are: 1-Agri-food, 2-Health, 3-Promotion of industrial development, 4-Sustainable development, global change, and ecosystems, 5-Information and communication technologies, 6-Science and society, and 7-Energy.

The FCT represents Portugal in the CYTED Program, where Portuguese researchers are currently involved in thirty thematic networks, coordinating four of them. This call for proposals is an opportunity for Portuguese researchers to increase their participation and take advantage of funding for collaboration in high-impact R&D projects in the priority areas of the CYTED program.

This program, which has been running since 1984, aims to promote scientific and technological cooperation between Ibero-American countries and has funded more than 5,000 projects over the years.

Researchers interested in participating can find more information about the call for proposals and eligibility requirements on the official CYTED website.
