Applications are open until January 22, 2025 for the Calls Exploratory Projects under the international partnerships between FCT and the US universities Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin).

The international partnerships, CMU-Portugal, MIT-Portugal and UT Austin-Portugal, annually promote Calls exploratory projects, with the aim of developing disruptive, high-risk scientific projects, but with a high potential impact on the development and valorization of the scientific results obtained.

In each of these Calls, the projects to be developed are expected to last 12 months, with total funding of €400,000 allocated to each partnership.

FCT supports the internationalization of the national scientific and technological community by representing Portugal in international forums, funding innovative projects and the mobility of highly qualified human resources.
