The L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honor for Women in Science is an initiative of L'Oréal Portugal, in conjunction with the UNESCO National Commission (CNU) and the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), with the aim of promoting the participation of women in science by encouraging the youngest and most promising scientists, at the start of their careers, to pursue advanced studies in the area of Science, Engineering and Technology for Health or the Environment.
The medals are intended for advanced scientific research studies, at post-doctoral level, in universities or other Portuguese institutions of recognized merit, in the field of Science, Engineering and Technology for Health or the Environment.
All female doctors who have obtained their doctorate less than 5 years before the date of the Call and who will not be older than 35 by the end of the current year are eligible to apply.
The unit value of the Medals of Honor is €15,000.
