The Call Individual is intended for PhD holders of any nationality or stateless persons holding a degree in any scientific area who intend to carry out their scientific research or technological development activities in Portugal, integrated in R&D units funded by FCT.
Candidates identify in advance the host institution where they will develop their research plan. The selected doctorates are directly hired by the identified host institution, through FCT funding.
The following reference categories are considered:
- Junior Researcher: PhD holders with little post-doctoral research experience or without a scientific curriculum after their PhD in the scientific area to which they are applying.
- Auxiliary researcher: PhD holders for more than 5 years, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying, with no requirement to demonstrate scientific independence.
- Principal Investigator: PhD holders for more than 5 years, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating scientific independence in the last 3 years.
- Coordinating Researcher: PhD holders for more than 5 years, with the title of qualified or aggregate, with a curriculum of high merit in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating scientific independence and with evidence of leadership in the scientific area to which they are applying.
Results of the editions of Call Stimulus for Individual Scientific Employment
FCT has released the results of the complaint phase for the 5th edition of Call Stimulus to Individual Scientific Employment.
It is also announced that, for the first time in all editions of the Call Stimulus to Individual Scientific Employment, by deliberation of the FCT Board of Directors and in accordance with the provisions of art. 10(3) of the REC.According to Article 10(3) of the REC, vacancies not filled by the initially selected candidates, due to the withdrawal of candidates before the signing of employment contracts, will be filled by the candidates positioned immediately after, respecting the sequential order of the list of evaluated applications, provided that the applications meet the minimum merit threshold defined in the notice for submission of applications, which for this edition corresponds to a final score of 8 points.
