An information session on the Chips Joint Undertaking Partnership's Calls for 2024 took place on March 4 at the INL - International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory in Braga.

The session was organized jointly by FCT and the National Innovation Agency (ANI) and was attended by the Minister for Science and Technology, Elvira Fortunato, the President of FCT, Madalena Alves, the Coordinator of ANI's European R&I Programmes Unit, Anabela Carvalho, representatives of the National Delegation to Chips JU, the Executive of Chips JU and private members of the Partnership.

The event addressed the funding opportunities available under the Partnership which acts as an instrumental central force in implementing the objectives of the European Chips Act - a regulatory framework designed to strengthen the continent's competitiveness and resilience in semiconductor technologies.

President of the FCT - Madalena AlvesThis session brought together funding agencies, experts, academics and industrialists to explore the joint effort at national level, with European partners, to strengthen the semiconductor ecosystem and highlighted the role to be played by Portugal as a participating state in the Chips JU.
