Participation in the team
-
You can consult here the description of the functions of researchers, technicians, and other support staff as defined in the 2020 National Scientific and Technological Potential Survey by the Directorate-General for Education and Science Statistics.
-
The percentage of time devoted to projects is not cumulative with the percentage of time devoted to the R&D unit if the activity related to the projects is part of the R&D unit's research activity and is not carried out independently.
-
The percentage of time dedicated to research activities within the team is calculated by subtracting from 100% the percentage of time dedicated to research activities in other teams, to teaching, and to activities other than R&D.
-
For employees who joined the team on or before January 1, 2020, the reference date for the % of dedication must be January 1, 2020. If the date of entry into the team is after January 1, 2020, the date of % dedication must be the same as the date of entry. Subsequent changes to the initial % dedication must be recorded with the date to which they relate. All dates and respective % dedication percentages are recorded in the employee's history.
-
A researcher with a PhD or associate professor title who, in either case, must have a contract or link with a Portuguese institution and devote at least 20% of their working time to research activities in the R&D unit and in Portugal. An integrated PhD researcher can only be integrated into a single R&D unit, namely the one in which they carry out their main research activity, but they can be a collaborator in one or more R&D units.
-
This is the team member responsible for Open Science requirements and liaison with the FCT, in accordance with the provisions of the Program Contract for the financing of the R&D unit.
-
Each team has an Open Science Manager, and another member may be appointed to replace them when they are unavailable.
-
The error described occurs for an integrated researcher and is related to filling in the fields "Integration start date" and "Integration end date," which must be done in accordance with the date(s) of the professional situation(s) corresponding to the employment relationship or contract. The "Start date of integration" must correspond to a date equal to or later than January 1, 2020, on which the researcher has an employment relationship or contract. The "Integration end date" must be filled in when the employment relationship or contract has an "End date." An integration period that does not coincide with the period in which a researcher had one or more employment relationships or contracts, or failure to fill in the "Integration end date" field under the conditions mentioned above, will result in an error and prevent the information from being submitted.
