The instruments governing the awarding of funding by the FCT may include ways of valuing compliance with the Policy, namely by awarding preferential conditions in the granting of funding to those who comply with it.

FCT aims to create conditions that encourage full compliance with the Policy by those subject to it and their voluntary and committed adherence to it. For this reason, the FCT favors funding instruments that include ways of valuing compliance with the Policy, namely by granting preferential conditions in the allocation of funding to those who comply with it.

In order to help authors understand the Open Access Policy, FCT has developed a support website. This site can be consulted by the author to guide them through the process of publishing in open access.
